Once ProtechKID is installed and set up to a child's computer, it detects child sexual abuse by analyzing the anomalies in the text messages and webcam feed during online chat sessions. The methodology of ProtechKID relies on a two-layer architecture to analyze conversations. First, the system estimates the age of the person who is chatting with the child to understand whether he/she is an adult. If this person is an adult, conversation text and face images obtained from the corresponding chat are analyzed to detect suspicious behavior of the adult subject. Ultimate aim of ProtechKID is to expose probable cases of child sexual abuse during chat conversations, and inform authorities.
